Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a friendly finance team in Croydon. This full‑time position offers a solid foundation in finance with a focus on Accounts Payable and exposure to month‑end accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Process a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare supplier payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
• Handle supplier queries and maintain strong relationships.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cash allocation.
• Support month‑end processes, including journals, accruals, and pre‑payments.
• Assist with balance‑sheet reconciliations and preparation of management accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity.
• Provide general finance and administrative support as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable role.
• Confidence using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Studying AAT or seeking further finance development is advantageous but not essential.
