Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our growing practice in Chichester. You will gain hands‑on experience processing client data, supporting year‑end work and developing your accounting knowledge in a supportive, modern environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process client data using Xero, Dext, Sage and QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with year‑end accounts preparation and tax calculations under supervision, using the CCH software suite.
• Support file reviews, prepare accounts packs and draft correspondence for client submissions.
• Handle personal tax issues and filings, including simple tax calculations and P11D submissions, in line with current legislation.
• Participate in ad‑hoc accounting duties to contribute to service excellence and client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Competent knowledge of bookkeeping and accounts‑processing software.
• Enthusiasm for developing expertise in accounts preparation, tax legislation and compliance.
• Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail.
• Proactive attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Desire to grow within the accountancy sector and pursue professional development.
