Accounts & Audit Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a long‑established independent accountancy firm in Harrow to find an Accounts & Audit Manager. Working closely with the firm’s owner, you will enjoy genuine autonomy across audit, accounting and tax work while building lasting client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver financial audit assignments from planning through completion.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts for owner‑managed limited companies.
• Complete corporation tax returns and support broader compliance work.
• Prepare personal tax returns and assist with VAT returns.
• Provide payroll support where required.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, fostering long‑term relationships.
• Collaborate with the owner on the practice’s strategic development.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Strong UK practice experience with a solid audit background.
• Proven experience preparing accounts, audit work and personal tax returns.
• Broad understanding of corporation tax, VAT and compliance matters.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence managing client relationships.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach and ability to thrive in a small, collaborative team.
