Accounts Semi-Senior – Accountancy Practice Technician

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an Accounts Semi‑Senior to join its friendly and professional accountancy practice in North Devon. The role offers a progressive environment where you can develop your technical skills and advance your career with ongoing support and training.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a diverse portfolio of clients, from sole traders to limited companies.
• Prepare monthly and year‑end accounts.
• Assist with personal and corporate tax compliance.
• Manage VAT returns and bookkeeping tasks.
• Attend client meetings and handle day‑to‑day queries.

Required profile

• Ideally AAT qualified, though relevant experience without formal qualification is also considered.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Recent experience within an accountancy practice is essential.
• Experience at Technician or Semi‑Senior level preferred.
• Ability to work from the Barnstaple or South Molton offices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships.
