Accounts Senior – Full Set Statutory Accounts

About the role

We are an established independent accountancy practice in Fareham seeking an Accounts Senior to manage a diverse client portfolio. You will take ownership of accounts from initial records through to the stage ready for partner review and sign‑off.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies up to review/sign‑off.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Review bookkeeping, correct client records and handle incomplete or poor‑quality data.
• Work extensively with Xero and associated applications.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information.
• Support and review junior team members where required.
• Collaborate with managers on more complex or group entities.

Required profile

• Proven experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Ability to prepare a full set of statutory accounts for review/sign‑off.
• Strong experience reviewing bookkeeping and dealing with incomplete records.
• Confident user of Xero.
• Experience with corporation tax and VAT compliance.
• Comfortable with regular client liaison.
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification (or studying) welcomed, but practical experience is key.
• Organised, commercially aware and capable of working independently.
