Accounts Senior/Semi-Senior (Hybrid, Newcastle)

About the role

We are partnering with a top‑40 accountancy and advisory firm to expand its Accounts team in Newcastle. The role is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week in the office, and offers a flexible 35‑hour week.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare VAT returns, management accounts, journals and basic statutory accounts.
• Assist with group accounts, consolidations and simple corporation tax computations.
• Apply practical knowledge of VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax to client matters.
• Manage own workload, deadlines and budgets while delivering client‑ready work.
• Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years’ experience in accounts or business services.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
• Qualified, or studying towards, AAT, ACA or ACCA.
• Confident user of accounting and data systems.
