Active Directory Engineer (Hybrid, Birmingham)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to join a leading global professional services firm on a 6‑month contract. The role is hybrid, requiring three days per week on‑site in Birmingham, and focuses on business‑as‑usual support for on‑premises Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID and Azure Virtual Desktop.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support and maintenance for on‑prem Active Directory environments.
• Manage Azure AD/Entra ID, including Conditional Access, role/group management and Entra Connect.
• Configure and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) deployments.
• Maintain DNS, DHCP, WINS, PKI certificates and Domain Controller roles.
• Implement and manage Group Policy Objects, Group Policy Preferences and Intune policies.
• Support Single Sign‑On (SSO) and authentication systems.
• Log and resolve incidents using ServiceNow.

Required profile

• Expert working knowledge of Active Directory design, OU structure and policy management.
• Strong experience with Azure AD/Entra ID and related security policies.
• Proven ability to work in a global, multi‑site environment.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing processes.
