Activities Co-ordinator

About the role

Kingfisher House Care Home, a nursing home in Newmarket, Suffolk, is looking for an Activities Co-ordinator. The post holder plans and organises activities for all residents throughout the day, supports their social, intellectual and spiritual well-being, and helps organise individual, group and fundraising activities. Additional hours may be needed for outings and events, so a flexible approach is expected. The role also delivers physical, psychological and social care to frail elderly residents.

Key responsibilities

• Build friendships with residents to help them adjust to life in the home.
• Deliver a high level of personal and psychological care professionally.
• Maintain good communication with the Manager, Senior Care Assistants, Chef and relatives.
• Support teamwork and complete records to a satisfactory standard, agreeing the type and quantity with the manager each month.
• Safeguard residents' and staff's rights and maintain confidentiality of clients, staff and business.
• Plan daytime and evening activities, coordinate the programme with other services and assess residents' needs to set activity goals in the written care plan.
• Encourage resident participation, document outcomes and stay aware of Health and Safety requirements.
• Provide backup for all staff and carry out additional duties and training as requested.
