Activity Coordinator (Bank)

About the role

The New Deanery, a care home in Braintree run by Gold Care Homes, is looking for an Activity Coordinator (bank). The post holder plans and organises activities for all residents throughout the day, supports their social, intellectual and spiritual well-being, and delivers physical, psychological and social care to frail elderly residents. Extra hours may be needed for outings and events.

Key responsibilities

• Build friendships with residents to help them settle into life in the home.
• Deliver a high level of personal and psychological care professionally.
• Plan daytime and evening activities and coordinate the programme with other services in the facility.
• Assess residents' needs, set activity goals in the written care plan and encourage participation, documenting outcomes.
• Support individual, group and fundraising activities and help residents achieve their aspirations.
• Maintain good communication with the manager, senior care assistants, chef and relatives, and support team working.
• Keep records to a satisfactory standard, agreeing type and quantity with the manager monthly.
• Protect resident and staff rights and confidentiality, and stay aware of health and safety requirements.
• Complete any additional duties and take part in training and development offered by the home.
