Additional Supported Learning Team Leader

About the role

The school in Sidcup is seeking an Additional Supported Learning (ASL) Team Leader to oversee specialist interventions for pupils with complex learning needs. You will act as the bridge between classroom teachers, external specialists and senior management, ensuring inclusive practice across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and allocate workloads for additional support staff and specialist assistants.
• Develop, monitor and update individualised learning plans for students with diverse needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and external professionals to design effective classroom interventions.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with safeguarding and education policies.
• Provide guidance and professional development to staff on inclusive teaching practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with children who have complex additional support or learning needs.
• Strong leadership qualities with experience managing or supervising a team in an educational setting.
• Deep knowledge of relevant national educational policies and inclusive frameworks.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills for working with families and external agencies.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo the registration process.
