Adult Mental Health Social Worker (Agency)

About the role

Our client, Leicester City Council, is looking for an agency Social Worker to join its Adult Mental Health team on a three‑month initial assignment. The role is paid at £34 per hour (umbrella) and requires one day per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct assessments under the Care Act.
• Develop care plans and provide support.
• Safeguarding and multi‑agency collaboration.
• Work on Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity matters.
• Complete Best Interest Decisions and residential reviews.
• Cover team duty and conduct eligibility assessments.
• Facilitate hospital discharge and attend S117 meetings.
• Deliver strength‑based assessments.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker.
• Fully registered with Social Work England.
• Significant post‑qualified experience in adult social care.
• Experience working with adults who have mental health conditions is desirable.
