Advanced Clinical Practitioner – Walk‑in Service (Band 7)

About the role

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will join a new Walk‑in Service on Benbecula, delivering same‑day urgent care for temporary residents and visitors across the Western Isles. This fixed‑term position supports the NHS goal of relieving pressure on local GP practices while improving patient access.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessment and management of same‑day urgent care presentations.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans and arrange onward referrals.
• Provide telephone, video (Near Me) and face‑to‑face appointments within the service hub.
• Collaborate with Primary Care Coordinators, GPs and other team members to ensure seamless care.
• Support the expansion of the service to North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist from November 2026.

Required profile

• Qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner registered with the relevant professional body.
• Willingness to register with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality urgent care in a rural setting.
