Aircraft Fitter – 12‑Month Contract (Filton)

About the role

We are seeking an Aircraft Fitter for a 12‑month contract at our Filton site. The role involves working to engineering instructions and aircraft drawings on a shift from 6:30 am to 3:45 pm, Monday‑Thursday, and is paid £28.87 per hour inside IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret engineering instructions and aircraft drawings to carry out fitting tasks.
• Use power tools for drilling, shimming and sealing components.
• Perform work in confined spaces such as tanks and restricted wing access.
• Complete required 1‑party certification after successful training.
• Maintain high health and safety standards throughout all activities.

Required profile

• Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a recognised engineering field.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Previous fitting experience in aerospace or related industry.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting aircraft drawings.
• Operation of power tools (drilling, shimming, sealing).
• Confined‑space work techniques.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
