ALN Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs) - Ammanford

About the role

A specialist Additional Learning Needs (ALN) school in Ammanford, near Llanelli, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3-19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties. The workplace is on site, and the pay is £90-£100 per day.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, physical disabilities and other complex learning needs
• Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual development plans
• Occasionally assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing, ensuring dignity and safety
• Support sensory, communication and differentiated learning activities
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and inclusion
• Work closely with teachers and specialist professionals

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN or complex needs
• Calm, patient and caring, with a flexible and positive approach
• Ability to work well as part of a team in a specialist setting
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
• A Child and Adult DBS is required
