Alternative Provision SEN Teacher (Full‑time, Term‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an Alternative Provision Teacher to design and deliver 1:1 and small‑group sessions for pupils who face barriers to mainstream education due to special educational needs, social‑emotional challenges, medical conditions, or awaiting specialist placement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver academic and therapeutic sessions tailored to each child's needs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of each session and adjust future learning plans accordingly.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with students, recognising their individuality and cultural identity.
• Work collaboratively with a team of teachers across multiple sites in Cambridgeshire.
• Maintain detailed individual records to monitor progress and inform assessment.
• Coordinate closely with schools, parents/carers and multi‑agency partners.
• Act as key worker/lead tutor for a small group, supporting their pastoral welfare.
• Participate in meetings and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering tailored educational programmes for pupils with SEN, SEMH or similar needs.
• Ability to design and evaluate therapeutic and academic sessions.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on educational regulations.
• Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
