AML Manager – Lead Anti-Money Laundering Team

About the role

Wise May Ltd is recruiting an AML Manager to join a global law firm’s Compliance team. Reporting to the Director of Compliance & Privacy – Europe, you will lead a team of AML Analysts and own the firm’s anti‑money laundering and financial crime programme.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee AML onboarding, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and ongoing monitoring.
• Act as subject‑matter expert on AML and related financial‑crime regulations.
• Identify and implement process, system and control improvements to enhance efficiency and risk management.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the firm stays ahead of upcoming changes.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of AML Analysts, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews of CDD reports, risk assessments and screening outcomes.
• Liaise with New Business, Compliance and other service functions.
• Provide advice, training and guidance to lawyers and staff on global AML policies.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and inspections.
• Assist the Director of Compliance & Privacy with ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Significant AML experience within a law‑firm environment, covering onboarding, CDD, EDD and ongoing monitoring.
• Proven leadership ability to manage, develop and evaluate a team of analysts.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive, improvement‑focused mindset and ability to assess regulatory impact.
• A degree in law or a related discipline is desirable.
