AML Officer – Legal, Risk & Compliance

About the role

We are looking for an AML Officer to join the Legal, Risk & Compliance team of a leading international professional services firm. The role will focus on client due diligence, anti‑money‑laundering compliance and risk assessment to ensure new clients and matters meet regulatory and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client due diligence and AML checks for new clients and matters.
• Review and assess client risk, including enhanced due diligence, sanctions and PEP screening.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and support ongoing monitoring activities.
• Provide guidance to colleagues on AML and CDD requirements.
• Respond to compliance queries and support efficient client onboarding.
• Contribute to process improvements, training initiatives and regulatory best practice.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of AML/CDD experience in a professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of AML regulations and client due‑diligence processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgement and analytical capability.
• Strong online research and investigative skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work proactively and pay exceptional attention to detail.
• Collaborative approach and experience delivering training or presenting to stakeholders.
• Genuine interest in compliance, regulation and current affairs.
