Android Engineer – Contract (Bristol)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer to join our mobile security team in Bristol on a contract basis. You will help build secure, high‑performing Android components and SDKs that protect millions of users across multiple brands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality Android applications and security features.
• Design, build and deliver reusable mobile security services and SDKs.
• Collaborate with strategy and architecture teams to define and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Android best practices, performance standards and secure coding principles.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the mobile engineering community.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Java.
• Extensive experience with the Android SDK, UI design principles and common design patterns.
• Proficiency in offline storage, threading models and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with the open‑source Android ecosystem and popular libraries.
• Experience with Git‑based workflows and applying SOLID principles.
• Hands‑on experience with MVVM/MVI, Android Architecture Components and Jetpack libraries, including Jetpack Compose.
• Experience working in a modular codebase and conducting UI testing.
