Network & Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

The Network & Cyber Security Consultant will support iXceed Solutions' Digital Edge and Cyber Security product suite, primarily focusing on CDN‑based protection and optimisation for banking infrastructure. This hybrid role (2 days on‑site) is a 6‑month contract (inside IR35) and requires hands‑on expertise in networking, security, and edge technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform WAF, security and bot‑manager reviews to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Inspect traffic at the edge and origin, implement alerting and monitoring for system errors and attacks.
• Generate, upload and manage SSL/TLS certificates for secure handshakes.
• Configure load‑balancing and path‑based routing for web applications at the edge.
• Manage security configurations for hostnames in collaboration with application teams.
• Implement caching, storage and custom error pages on edge nodes.
• Validate and enforce appropriate HTTP methods based on application requirements.
• Respond to production and pre‑production incidents and support digital modernisation efforts.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience for junior level or 8+ years for mid‑senior level in networking and cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to work with CDN, edge computing and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong analytical skills to assess traffic, threats and performance.

Required skills

• DNS resolution, IP addressing, HTTP/HTTPS methods and status codes.
• TCP handshake, OSI model, BGP and ACL management.
• DDoS mitigation, SQL/CSS/CMD injection, LFI and other web‑protocol attacks.
• TLS/SSL certificate handling and encryption.
• Content Delivery Network (CDN) and edge computing concepts.
• Zero Trust Architecture, load balancing, reverse proxies and WAF.
• Threat intelligence, SIEM data analysis and traffic reporting.
• Cloud infrastructure experience, especially in security configuration.
