Android Engineer (Mobile)

About the role

Starling is looking for an Android Engineer to join its mobile squad within the technology division. You will work in a cross‑functional feature team, building new banking experiences for Android users and contributing to the internal tooling that powers our engineering organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android applications using Java/Kotlin.
• Collaborate with product, design and backend teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Build and improve internal tooling used by engineers on a daily basis.
• Make architectural decisions for the Android platform and share insights with team leads.
• Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews and best‑practice adherence.

Required profile

• Self‑driven individual who takes full ownership of their work.
• Enjoys working in a fast‑paced fintech environment and cares about customer impact.
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and sharing knowledge.
