Applications Engineer

About the role

A leading international law firm is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Business Systems team. The role combines hands‑on technical work with business ownership, focusing on critical applications, integrations and data flows across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Own, support and continuously improve business‑critical applications.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across applications, integrations, databases and data flows.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Configure, test, deploy, upgrade and maintain applications.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and deliver enhancements.
• Produce technical documentation, manage change control and support release activities.
• Help manage application roadmaps, backlogs and priorities.
• Ensure security, data quality, reliability and a positive user experience.

Required profile

• Experience supporting or owning business‑critical applications in a complex professional services, legal or financial environment.
• Strong hands‑on technical background in at least one of the listed integration or development platforms.
• Proven ability to work with stakeholders, vendors and technical teams.
• Comfortable balancing technical execution with business‑facing ownership.
• Excellent documentation, communication and problem‑solving skills.

• Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Function Apps, API Management, Service Bus, REST APIs)
• SQL Server, data flows, ETL, reporting or database development
• Power Platform – Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric
