Apprentice Bodyshop Technician

About the role

Sytner BMW Stevenage is offering a Bodyshop Apprentice Technician position. This apprenticeship provides hands‑on training in accident repair, covering paint, panel work and Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (MET) disciplines, with classroom blocks at the BMW Group Training Academy.

Key responsibilities

• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on damaged vehicles.
• Assist with vehicle repairs following accident damage, adhering to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Use specialist tools and diagnostic equipment to support the Bodyshop team.
• Prepare vehicles and panels for painting, mix and apply paint, and perform colour matching.
• Repair minor paint defects and deliver a high‑quality finish on premium BMW and MINI vehicles.

Required profile

• GCSE grade A‑C/9‑4 or Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths and one other subject (or equivalent).
• Passion for automotive technology and a desire to learn multiple repair disciplines.
• Attention to detail, reliability and a strong team‑player attitude.
• No prior experience required – genuine interest in vehicles is essential.
