Apprentice Emergency Gas Responder – 3‑Year Apprenticeship

About the role

We are launching our Emergency Gas Responder Apprenticeship programme across Scotland. Over a 3‑year period you will gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours to work as part of our highly skilled operations teams, safely delivering gas to millions of homes and businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to reported gas emergencies
• Install and replace gas meters
• Install, test and commission internal gas pipework
• Promote health and safety in gas service and repair activities

Required profile

• At least 3 National 5 grades A‑C (or equivalent 3 GCSEs A*‑C) including Maths & English
• Passion for a career in the gas network industry
• Commitment to up to 3 years of training and education
• Ability to drive (or obtain a driving licence within 6‑12 months)
• Willingness to travel to training centres and stay away from home when required

Required skills

• Installation and replacement of gas meters
• Testing and commissioning of internal gas pipework
