Arabic Advocate

About the role

The Arabic Advocate provides interpreting and advocacy support to Arabic‑speaking private patients, their families and the multidisciplinary clinical teams caring for them. Reporting to the Head of International Services and Overseas, the role ensures a smooth patient journey from admission through treatment and discharge, acting as the primary point of contact for patients, embassies and third‑party sponsors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver oral and written Arabic interpreting for patients, families, consultants and medical staff.
• Coordinate administrative and financial requirements with embassies, sponsors and private billing teams.
• Provide first‑line pastoral care, orientation and cultural support throughout the treatment pathway.
• Liaise with private medical secretaries, finance teams and third‑party service providers (e.g., hotels, airlines).
• Manage Letters of Guarantee, ensure patient accounts remain in credit and record all documentation in the appropriate systems.
• Support distressed or bereaved families, offering guidance and emotional assistance.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Middle Eastern embassies and sponsoring organisations.

Required profile

• Fluent in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Experience working in a healthcare or patient‑focused environment is desirable.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
