Area Business Manager – Commercial Waste

About the role

Veolia is seeking an experienced Area Business Manager to lead its Commercial Waste operations across Birmingham and Wolverhampton. You will be responsible for driving growth, operational excellence and delivering first‑class service to a portfolio of customers while supporting the company’s ecological transformation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop Business Managers and commercial teams to execute the commercial strategy safely and compliantly.
• Define and implement short‑ and medium‑term strategies (0‑24 months) for the area, securing stakeholder engagement.
• Maximise profitability, improve operational efficiency through digital tools, asset utilisation and cost control.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and business models; report performance transparently.
• Drive innovation, transformation and cultural change to meet market, regulatory and customer demands.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and managing commercial waste businesses.
• Track record of delivering transformation and change initiatives.
• Strategic, solution‑focused thinker with strong commercial acumen.
