Area Engineering Manager – FM Services, London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Engineering Manager to lead facilities management contracts across Central London and the Home Counties. You will oversee a £4m P&L, manage M&E service delivery, and direct both site‑based and mobile engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary client contact, attending strategy and performance reviews.
• Maintain high client satisfaction and grow contract responsibilities.
• Manage the account budget, ensuring accurate P&L and cost control.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs to guarantee contractual compliance.
• Ensure all sites meet statutory, policy, and health & safety requirements.
• Produce monthly performance reports and address budget variations.
• Drive engineering productivity and oversee reactive and PPM work orders.
• Manage quality procedures, recruit new staff, and conduct annual appraisals.

Required profile

• Proven track record in commercial building maintenance and FM account management.
• Strong electrical or mechanical engineering background.
• Recognised engineering management qualification.
• Experience managing multi‑site contracts with budgets of several million pounds.
