Area Manager – Hospitality & Retail (Exeter Region)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established restaurant group to recruit an Area Manager for the Exeter and Plymouth region. You will oversee multiple restaurant sites, driving operational excellence while developing high‑performing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Store/Restaurant Managers to achieve commercial and service targets.
• Conduct regular site visits focusing on health & safety, customer experience, productivity versus payroll, and overall operational standards.
• Analyse regional performance data and implement strategies to improve people and business metrics.
• Identify training needs, support succession planning and ensure compliance with company policies and HR procedures.

Required profile

• Current experience as an Area, Cluster or Regional Manager.
• Strong background in a customer‑focused, people‑led environment such as hospitality, restaurants, QSR or retail.
• Proven track record of building and leading high‑performing teams.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to drive profitability.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South West region.
