Area Voice and Influence Coordinator

About the role

The Voice and Influence Coordinator will work across Leeds to ensure that children and young people, especially those who are care‑experienced or seldom heard, have their voices heard and shape local services. This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based at Merrion House and includes evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, parents, carers and partner organisations.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate youth voice projects, group activities and consultations.
• Collaborate with city‑wide services to embed youth perspectives into decision‑making.
• Manage programme budgets, timelines and risk assessments.
• Lead a small officer and work alongside two other coordinators on social‑care and seldom‑heard groups.
• Represent young people in recruitment panels and other stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven experience delivering projects or programmes with children and young people.
• Experience working with under‑represented groups and facilitating group activities.
• Ability to work flexibly, including regular evenings and weekends.
• Experience of partnership working across public, voluntary and community sectors.
