Assistant Accountant – Finance & Accounting

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join a fast‑growing entertainment and leisure business in Borehamwood. You will support the finance team by handling day‑to‑day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records and helping drive performance across multiple venues.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly trade data, compile statistics and reconcile revenue.
• Investigate and escalate trading anomalies.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support treasury activities, including weekly payment proposals.
• Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations.
• Support monthly finance processes such as ledger management, reporting, cash management and year‑end audit activities.
• Provide operational finance support, including wage percentage analysis and identification of trading inefficiencies.
• Assist Purchase Ledger and Credit Control teams with supplier payments and debt collection.
• Contribute to PRS submissions and ad‑hoc finance projects.

Required profile

• Experience working across multiple sites, preferably in the FMCG or entertainment sector.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to build strong relationships with venue management and operational teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, timely financial information.
