Assistant Chief Officer – Older People & Primary Care Services

About the role

The Assistant Chief Officer will lead the strategic and operational delivery of Older People and Primary Care services across Glasgow. Reporting to the Depute Chief Officer – Operations and Governance, the role provides vision and leadership for a wide portfolio of health and social care services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning and workforce strategies to drive transformational change.
• Lead service redesign, integration and ensure high‑quality, person‑centred delivery across multiple services.
• Represent the partnership at local, regional and national levels, shaping policy and contributing to capital planning.
• Engage with the Scottish Government on adult services and ensure compliance with national standards and statutory responsibilities.

Required profile

• Master’s level education in a relevant field.
• Extensive senior leadership experience within the NHS, local government or comparable public/third‑sector organisations.
• Proven track record of strategic planning, service transformation and partnership working.
• Strong political awareness, excellent communication and influencing skills.
