Assistant Factory Finance Controller (Buxton)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Factory Finance Controller to join the finance team at our Buxton bottling site. Reporting to the Factory Financial Controller, you will provide comprehensive financial support, drive cost improvements and ensure robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support on all CAPEX & Fixed Asset activities, including validation of financials and monthly register accuracy.
• Challenge assumptions and drive cost improvements through identification, review and validation of savings projects.
• Prepare forecasts and analysis of factory costs, supporting month‑end close, journal entries and variance analysis.
• Lead business planning activities, including the Annual Cost Estimate and dynamic forecasting.
• Support the Factory Controller in implementing best practices and internal controls.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (partially or fully) with finance experience, preferably in manufacturing or supply‑chain environments.
• Strong management accounting skills, including month‑end close, accruals and budgeting.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight reporting deadlines and influence non‑finance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP (ERP system).
• Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFs and large data set analysis.
• Experience using ERP systems for financial reporting.

• Salary £40,000‑£45,000 depending on experience.
