Assistant Lawyer – Complex Injury (Manchester)

About the role

Join a highly regarded Complex Injury team in Manchester, handling high‑value personal injury claims ranging from £100k to £750m. You will work closely with an experienced Partner on employer’s liability, public liability and road traffic accident matters, developing technical expertise on nationally significant cases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage investigations and identify key liability and quantum issues.
• Review and analyse medical, liability and quantum evidence.
• Interview witnesses and prepare witness statements.
• Draft legal documentation, pleadings and applications.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, experts, counsel and other stakeholders.
• Attend conferences, mediations, settlement meetings and court hearings.
• Support the development of case strategy and claim resolution.

Required profile

• Strong experience handling personal injury litigation matters.
• Experience on either the claimant or defendant side.
• Excellent investigation and analytical skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
• Strong understanding of liability and quantum issues.
• Outstanding communication and client‑relationship skills.
• Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
• Positive, collaborative attitude and desire for professional development.
