Assistant Management Accountant – Finance Role

About the role

Jackson Hogg is expanding its finance team in Gateshead and is looking for two Assistant Management Accountants. The role is ideal for professionals currently working in accounts payable or receivable who want to develop broader management accounting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Own the day‑to‑day purchase ledger or sales ledger processes.
• Process and reconcile supplier or customer accounts and monitor outstanding balances.
• Allocate cash, perform account reconciliations and support month‑end activities.
• Assist with balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments and financial reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements and support finance system enhancements.
• Help meet audit and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Purchase or Sales Ledger.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent reconciliation abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced finance environment.
• Studying towards or interested in AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualifications.
• Motivated to progress into a management accounting career.
