Assistant Management Accountant

About the role

This position supports the finance team of a fast‑growing commerce business in North Manchester. Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Manager, you will help produce accurate monthly management accounts and provide insight for business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
• Post and review journals, accruals, pre‑payments and other month‑end entries.
• Perform reconciliations and support the full month‑end close process.
• Analyse financial data to deliver commercially‑focused insights.

Required profile

• 1‑4 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Currently studying AAT, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience with month‑end processes, journal entries and reconciliations.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Familiarity with Sage 200 or similar ERP systems.
