Assistant Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join our fast‑growing HR technology business in central London. The role sits within the finance team, working closely with senior leadership and offering real ownership of finance and business processes from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end and management accounting tasks, including journal preparation, fixed‑asset register maintenance and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Produce financial reports, KPI packs and ad‑hoc analysis to support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable, maintain accurate Xero records and resolve finance queries.
• Identify and implement process improvements, building automation and reporting solutions in Xero and Excel.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Part‑qualified ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent) is desirable.
• Experience with month‑end processes, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software, preferably Xero.
• Strong understanding of accruals, pre‑payments, double‑entry and P&L/balance‑sheet structures.
• Interest in how AI can enhance finance processes; HR‑tech exposure is a plus.
