Assistant Manager - The Festival, Edinburgh

About the role

The Festival, a Greene King pub in the heart of Edinburgh, is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager. The post is central to the day-to-day running of the pub, working closely with the General Manager to keep standards high, develop the team and drive business performance. It is a full-time, permanent position with 45 scheduled hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Motivate and inspire the team to deliver excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
• Support the General Manager with daily operations, leading shifts and keeping the pub at its best.
• Deliver outstanding hospitality, whether guests come for a meal, to watch live sport or before a show.
• Help manage sales, labour costs, stock and profitability, spotting opportunities to improve results.
• Coach and support team members so they build their skills and progress within Greene King.
• Take ownership of cleanliness, safety, compliance and the overall guest experience.
• Build strong working relationships and a supportive, motivating team culture.

Required profile

• Previous hospitality management experience, ideally in a busy pub, bar or restaurant, with the ability to lead a team, run day-to-day operations and deliver commercial results.
• Eligibility to hold a Personal Licence, as the role may involve covering the business in the General Manager's absence; Greene King supports applicants in obtaining it.
