Assistant Merchandiser - Fashion

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to support our fashion retail team in Birmingham. You will help maximise sales and ensure stock levels meet customer demand across a dedicated product sub‑category.

Key responsibilities

• Trade and plan your own sub‑category area of product.
• Work with the Buying team to manage the critical path.
• Maintain good working relationships with internal and external suppliers.
• Identify sales and stock opportunities and threats through reporting and analysis.
• Maximise the availability of core lines.
• Support the Merchandiser in preparing for meetings and presentations.
• Provide direction to the Merchandise Assistant and deputise for the Merchandiser as required.

Required profile

• Previous merchandising experience required.
• IT literate and confident user of Excel formulae.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent communicator with a numerical and methodical approach.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
