Assistant Planning Enforcement Officer (Hybrid)

About the role

Join Torbay Council's Development Management Team as an Assistant Planning Enforcement Officer. You will investigate alleged breaches of planning control across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, delivering high‑quality customer service while supporting the Council’s corporate goals.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and assess planning enforcement cases.
• Take appropriate action to remedy breaches of planning control.
• Produce written and oral reports, ensuring confidentiality where required.
• Use new technology and the Council’s Planning Enforcement Policy to monitor and prioritise cases.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve enforcement outcomes.

Required profile

• Motivated, enthusiastic and detail‑oriented.
• Strong communicator with good written and oral skills.
• Interest in development management and the built environment.
• Willingness to learn planning legislation and its application.
