Assistant POL Superintendent - Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Assistant Petroleum, Oils and Lubricant (POL) Superintendent to support a government contract on the island of Diego Garcia. The role shares responsibility for supervision of receipt, storage, testing and distribution of fuel and lubricants, ensuring safety, quality control and environmental compliance. It acts as red relief for the POL Superintendent's absence and is available 24/7 to meet with government personnel and program leadership within 30 minutes.

Key responsibilities

• Share responsibility for managing daily fuel operations, distribution and inventory
• Ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement and the Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System
• Develop and improve safety processes and overall process improvements in the area of responsibility
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Meet with government personnel and program leadership within 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline preferred; two years of related experience may substitute for each year of the four years of college
• At least five years of experience in liquid fuels and fuel terminal operations, including three years in a supervisory capacity
• Two years of specialized experience with pressure-type hydrant and pantograph fuel systems
• Three years in a leadership role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's licence, a valid US Secret clearance (citizenship required), and country-specific visas as needed
• Ability to pass medical contract requirements and meet the physical demands of a remote overseas assignment

The position is pending contract award and involves long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions, and possible evening, weekend and holiday work.
