Assistant Tax and Trust Manager – Private Client

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Tax and Trust Manager to join the Private Client team of a leading London law firm. Working closely with senior Tax and Trust Managers and Private Client solicitors, you will support a varied portfolio of trust compliance and taxation matters while developing your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with trust compliance, including preparation of trust accounts and tax returns.
• Prepare inheritance tax forms for trusts.
• Support the preparation for and attendance at client meetings.
• Collaborate on complex tax and trust matters alongside senior managers and solicitors.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in tax legislation and industry developments.

Required profile

• ACA qualification, ideally newly qualified with up to two years’ relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of trust accounting and trust taxation.
• Understanding of estate, personal, offshore, and indirect taxation.
• Experience preparing trust accounts and tax returns.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and achieve billing targets.
