Assistant Tax Manager – Private Advisory

About the role
Join Grant Thornton’s Private Tax Advisory team as an Assistant Tax Manager, supporting high‑net‑worth individuals, families and their businesses. You will work on complex tax planning projects, build strong client relationships and help clients operate in a tax‑efficient manner.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke technical research for a range of advisory projects, including business restructurings, inheritance tax and international tax planning.
- Prepare high‑quality tax reports and liaise with HM Revenue & Customs on clients’ behalf.
- Develop and maintain internal networks across the firm to leverage multidisciplinary expertise.
- Stay up‑to‑date with UK and international tax legislation and case law.
Required profile
- Relevant professional qualification (ACA, CTA, ATT, ACCA or equivalent).
- Experience in private client or corporate tax advisory, preferably with exposure to shareholder tax issues, restructurings, inheritance tax and estate planning.
- Confidence interacting directly with clients and presenting technical advice.
Required skills
- Tax research and analysis.
- Preparation of tax advisory reports.
- HMRC liaison and compliance.
- Knowledge of UK and international tax law.
