Associate Regulatory Counsel, Competition

About the role

Google is seeking an Associate Regulatory Counsel to join its Global Competition team. You will provide legal guidance on competition and antitrust matters, interpret evolving regulations, and partner with internal stakeholders to mitigate risk across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret competition laws and compliance obligations into actionable requirements for Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Provide legal advice on compliance programs and policies to help mitigate regulatory risk.
• Manage discussions, negotiations, and disclosures with government agencies and competition regulators.
• Collaborate with internal partners to communicate compliance posture externally.

Required profile

• JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance, focusing on competition/antitrust and digital markets regulation.
• Experience engaging with regulators such as the European Commission and the UK Competition and Markets Authority.
• Admission to the bar and good standing, or authorized in‑house legal status in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Preferred: experience developing compliance programs, working with technology companies, and supporting public company boards and committees.
