Associate Research Supervisor – Doctoral Programmes

About the role

Metanoia Institute is seeking experienced, research‑active professionals to join its doctoral team on a zero‑hours, fixed‑term basis. As an Associate Research Supervisor you will support PhD candidates in psychotherapy, counselling and counselling psychology, providing academic guidance and pastoral care throughout their research journey.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise doctoral researchers, offering expert feedback on research design, methodology and academic writing.
• Monitor student progress and ensure timely completion of milestones.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Programme and other supervisors to maintain a high‑quality doctoral community.
• Contribute to the Institute’s research reputation through your own scholarly activity and engagement with the wider academic network.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in research‑active roles within psychotherapy, counselling or related fields.
• Strong commitment to supporting doctoral candidates and fostering an inclusive scholarly environment.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom (no visa sponsorship available).
