Asthma and Allergy Friendly School Nurse

About the role

The Asthma and Allergy Friendly Schools Co‑ordinator will join the Children’s Services team to drive the Asthma and Allergy Friendly Schools initiative across local schools. Working closely with school staff, healthcare professionals and families, the role aims to improve awareness, education and long‑term management of asthma and allergies in educational settings.

Key responsibilities

• Support schools in achieving Asthma and Allergy Friendly School accreditation.
• Act as the primary contact for participating schools, providing guidance on asthma and allergy management.
• Promote resources, training opportunities and best‑practice guidance to school staff.
• Collect and monitor project data, surveys and outcome measures.
• Produce reports and maintain accurate records for project evaluation.
• Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure programme delivery.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities to strengthen the initiative.

Required profile

• Passionate about child health and public‑health improvement.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience working with schools, healthcare teams or community health projects.
• Ability to manage data, produce reports and track outcomes.
