Audio Typist – Urology (Glasgow Royal Infirmary)

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an Audio Typist to join the Urology team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. You will provide accurate, timely transcription of medical reports, letters and other clinical documents for consultants, clinical nurse specialists and junior doctors.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe medical documentation, producing accurate typed reports, letters and clinical documents.
• Support Urology clinicians by delivering a comprehensive typing service.
• Assist secretarial teams with administrative tasks as required.
• Provide occasional general admin support to the wider admin team.
• Manage workload independently, scheduling tasks to meet performance targets.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and handle information securely.

Required profile

• Exceptional typing speed and accuracy.
• Good understanding of medical terminology.
• Strong time‑management skills.
• Ability to use initiative.
• Awareness of confidentiality requirements.
