Audit & Accounts Senior Manager

About the role

Our client, an independent accountancy practice on the South Coast, is seeking an ambitious Audit & Accounts Senior Manager to lead complex audit work and support the firm’s growth towards RI status. This role offers a modern office environment in Portsmouth with flexible working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review complex audit assignments for clients with turnovers up to £60 M.
• Manage and expand a portfolio of audit and non‑audit clients.
• Oversee technical quality, compliance and risk‑management processes.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior audit team members.
• Support business‑development initiatives and strategic growth plans.
• Build long‑term client relationships and contribute to client retention.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on operational and firm‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical audit knowledge and understanding of audit regulation.
• Proven experience managing client portfolios and leading teams.
• Commercially aware, proactive and client‑focused.
• Ambition to progress toward RI status.
• Experience with Iris is beneficial but not essential.
