Interim Financial Controller – Industrial Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Financial Controller to keep the finance function running smoothly for a client in the industrial and manufacturing sector based in Portsmouth. You will oversee daily financial operations, ensure compliance and provide actionable insights to support business decisions during the interim period.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare and review financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Provide financial analysis to support decision‑making across the business.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage year‑end audits.
• Identify process improvements to enhance financial workflows.
• Lead and support the finance team during the interim period.

Required profile

• Strong background in accounting and finance within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and compliance.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
