Audit & Assurance Senior

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing audit and assurance team. The role will involve working on statutory accounts and audits for medium and large-sized companies, with exposure to a diverse range of industries and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies.
• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies in accordance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Plan audits and carry out risk assessments.
• Review junior team members' audit work and identify key audit issues.
• Complete audit assignments accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Supervise, coach and support junior members of the audit team.
• Liaise with clients, managers and senior stakeholders to resolve technical matters and deliver an efficient audit service.
• Maintain high standards of audit quality and compliance.

Required profile

• At least 3 years' experience within a UK audit practice environment.
• Proven experience leading and delivering statutory audits.
• Experience working with owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies across a range of sectors.
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Experience planning audits, performing risk assessments and reviewing audit files.
• Previous experience supervising, coaching and reviewing junior team members.
• Current study towards, or qualification in, ACA or ACCA.
• Commitment to continued professional and technical development and a proactive, resilient, team‑focused approach.
