Audit Director

About the role

Join a leading accountancy practice in Manchester as an Audit Director. You will lead a high‑quality audit portfolio for listed, international and large private clients, shaping client relationships and influencing the firm’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex audit engagements across listed, international and large corporate clients.
• Sign audit reports as a Responsible Individual, ensuring the highest audit quality.
• Act as senior adviser, building trusted long‑term client relationships.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to boards, audit committees and senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Partners to identify growth opportunities and win new business.
• Support strategic development of the audit practice in Manchester.
• Coach, mentor and develop senior managers and future audit leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement in audit methodology, quality and client service.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CA qualified (RI status desirable).
• Extensive experience leading external audits within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Experience managing large corporate, listed and international audit clients.
• Proven track record of developing client relationships and generating new business.
• Collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing high‑performing teams.
