Audit Semi Senior – Public Practice (Wilmslow)

About the role

Butler Rose Public Practice Northern Division is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join its Wilmslow office. The role offers hands‑on experience across a diverse client portfolio, working closely with senior staff and taking responsibility for audit assignments. Candidates should be ACA/ACCA part‑qualified or have relevant audit experience and possess a full UK driving licence.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with external audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Perform audit testing and take responsibility for allocated sections of audit files.
• Attend client premises to undertake fieldwork and prepare clear working papers.
• Identify issues and discuss findings with senior staff.
• Support audit planning and preparation, and work to agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Assist with accounts preparation and corporation tax work where appropriate.
• Develop technical knowledge and support junior colleagues as experience grows.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA studies underway, or a strong desire to progress professionally.
• Previous audit experience or relevant accounting background.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car for client travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MWP audit software.
• Experience using IRIS and TaxCalc for accounts and corporation tax.
• Familiarity with Mercia audit methodology.
